Free Tool: IE Tester
Friday, August 21, 2009Free Tool: IE Tester- Most of template designers both the template for website and for blog want to have the best designed template for any browser available including for Internet Explorer (IE) browser. Internet Explorer (IE), though many people belittle it, according to the visit stats of Kang Rohman’ blogs, is still ranked the second after Firefox. Therefore, the template designers should not belittle the presence of Internet Explorer.
Up to now, Internet Explorer has been released up to the Version 8, but anyway there are still many internet users using the older versions including the Internet Explorer Version 6 (IE6). Therefore, the template designers should have all of Internet Explorer Versions. But the problem is that we are only allowed to install one version in one computer. So how is the solution in order to have IE in many versions in one computer?
There are many ways to have multiple IE in one computer, but Kang Rohman likes using IE Tester. IE Tester is web browser generated by http://www.my-debugbar.com. With IE Tester, we as if have IE browser from IE5,5, IE6, IE7, and IE8, it’s interesting, isn’t it?
This Software is available for free download at the official site.
Image Optimizer Tools
Wednesday, August 19, 2009Image Optimizer Tools - One thing can make the blog or website design interesting to see is by using the image design. However, another problem comes when you have to use the more images in your template. Your website or blog will be hard to load with your visitors so that it often makes them cancel to visit your blog or website. It is indeed a dilemma, on the one hand, of course, you want to have an interesting appearance for your website, but on the other hand, is a problem where visitors will be reduced.
For that case, actually you can get a solution. You can minimize the size of image data but still have the maximum and optimum quality to be seen. This way is usually called Image Optimization. To optimize an image, you can use the image optimizers or image optimization tools both online and installed on your computer.
The following are some Image Optimization Tools that you can use:
Online Image Optimizer Tools:
It’s a reliable image optimization tool. The images to be optimized with the tools are the images with GIF, JPG, PNG. For animated images are still welcome as long as in GIF format. The file limitations are not mentioned at this site, but Kang Rohman has tried on the images up to 400KB and apparently, it still works. The image sources can be from the image URLs uploaded on the internet or from your computer.
The images resulting from this optimization will be shown at various images in accordance with the optimization levels so that you can choose which images to be used. To take the images resulting from the optimization is very easy. Just point the image and right click on it and then Save Image As. (for Firefox).

Kang Rohman also has tried this tool and the results are quite good. The images that can be optimized with this tool are the images with the formats of GIF, JPG, PNG. Animated images can still be optimized but have to be in gif format. Inside the tool, there is a bit different thing; it is the tool to convert the image formats. The size of images to be optimized is limited to 300 KB, so if the images are more than 300 KB, you cannot use this tool.
It is a reliable image optimizer tool. However, at this site, you may want to enter your email address first. If you feel uncomfortable to enter your email address, of course, you can enter any email address provided that in the right format, e.g. example2009@example.com
For the tools installed on your computer, you can search for them on the internet, but you can try the tool that Kang Rohman has tried:
Memory Waves Image Optimizer 2
This tool can be downloaded for free and the optimization results are good enough.
Happy Trying!
