technical support How to Upload Magazine Template R.1.5 – To avoid confusion in using the template from Kang Rohman, here Kang Rohman will post and discuss a few things that are considered fundamental from the template. The first thing that Kang Rohman wants to discuss is How to Upload Magazine Template R.1.5 to blogger.

Let’s go to the point to save time and space. Below is how to upload magazine template R.1.5 ;

Step #1 : download template

You have to download first the magazine template R.1.5, those who haven’t downloaded it yet, please do it here!

Step #2 : Extract the file you download

The file that you download is the conversion file in the form of .rar, so the file needs to be extracted by using the extractor software such as Winrar. If you don’t have the extractor software, you can extract your file online at WobZIP.

You will have a folder consists of one folder and three files included in the extracted file, those are:

  • Folder named: If the images lose.
  • File named : 2 column magazine R 1-5.xml
  • File named : 3 column magazine R 1-5.xml
  • File named :ReadMe.txt
    ekstrak

The file that you need to upload to blogger is one of the two files, 2 column magazine R 1-5.xml or 3 column magazine R 1-5.xml. This is the choice for you. If you love to use two columns template, you will upload 2 column magazine R 1-5.xml. If you love to use three columns template, you will upload 3 column magazine R 1-5.xml.

Folder with the name of If the images lose is image file used in magazine template R.1.5, it is for those of you who intend to upload the images to your own hosting server and replace the links of images that I have provided. Or if someday Kang Rohman’s image server is too full and the bandwidth is down, then you will have your own images.

The file of readme.txt contains the brief instructions to upload; of course, this post is more complete than the file has.

Step #3. Backup Template

  1. Please login to blogger with your ID
  2. Click Layout
  3. Click Edit HTML
  4. Click Download Full Template. Please download the file to your computer.

  5. Backup template process is done. This is to protect your blog if error occurs while you’re uploading the new template. You still have the old template backup.

Step #4 : Backup Widget Code (This is he most important).

  1. You are still on the page of Edit HTML tab.
  2. Copy all widget code you have into " note pad " or any other text editor. The widget code usually begins with <b:widget ……
    The example of widget code of Kang Rohman’s:

    <b:widget id='HTML3' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML4' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML10' locked='false' title='Follow Me' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML7' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML14' locked='false' title='Blogging tutorial For Beginner' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML11' locked='false' title='Free Template Gallery' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML9' locked='false' title='News & Update' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML1' locked='false' title='My Site Info' type='HTML'/>

    Except the widget codes as follow, you do not need to backup because any template has the widgets:

    <b:widget id='Header1' locked='true' title='… (Header)' type='Header'/>
    <b:widget id='Blog1' locked='true' title='Posting Blog' type='Blog'/>

  3. The process of Widget code backup is done.

Step #5 : To replace the template

  1. You’re still on the page of Edit HTML tab.
  2. Click the button Browse.. in the upside, choose 2 column magazine R 1-5.xml or 3 column magazine R 1-5.xml (choose what you desire) Then click the button Upload.

  3. There will be warning that Widgets are about to be deleted
  4. Click the button Cancel.

  5. Scroll down the page and find out the code to place the widget. Find out the code as follow:

    <b:section class='middlecol' id='middlecol' preferred='yes'>

  6. Copy and Paste the widget code that you have backed up in the Step#2 exactly under the code that Kang Rohman printed in red.

    <b:section class='middlecol' id='middlecol' preferred='yes'>
    <b:widget id='HTML3' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML4' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML10' locked='false' title='Follow Me' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML7' locked='false' title='' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML14' locked='false' title='Blogging tutorial For Beginner' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML11' locked='false' title='Free Template Gallery' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML9' locked='false' title='News & Update' type='HTML'/>
    <b:widget id='HTML1' locked='false' title='My Site Info' type='HTML'/>
  7. If you are sure that all widget codes have been pasted on your new template, please click the button SAVE TEMPLATE.
  8. Done. If you have no mistake, all of your old widgets will not lose.

That’s all the discussion about How to Upload Magazine Template R.1.5. Next posts, Kang Rohman will discuss all the things related to magazine template R.1.5. Should you have any question, please write down here and I hope there will be a solution.
